چکیده
The degradation of iprodione (IPR), a once frequently used but recently banned dicarboximide fungicide, by UV-C light-, zero-valent iron- (ZVI), and aluminium (ZVA)-activated persulfate (PS) oxidation processes was comparatively studied in distilled (pure) water (DW) simulated, tertiary treated urban wastewater (SWW). performance PS-activated examined following IPR (2–10 mg/L) removal, PS (0.01–1.00 mM) consumption, metal ion release (for the two heterogeneous catalytic processes), dissolved organic carbon (DOC) removal as well hydroxylated aromatic low molecular weight aliphatic products. effect pH concentrations on DW. While experiments DW highlighted superior UV-C/PS treatment (with 78% DOC after 120 min at = 6.2), decreased sharply (to 24% 6.8) complex matrix (in SWW). Complete 20 min) 40% removals were obtained with ZVI/PS (1 g/L ZVI, 1.5 mM PS, 3.0), which most effective process SWW. strongly influenced SWW constituents, appeared to be sensitive it.

Processes of Removing Zinc from Water using Zero-Valent Iron
Zero-valent iron has received considerable attention for its potential application in the removal of heavy metals from water. This paper considers the possibility of removal of zinc ions from water by causing precipitates to form on the surface of iron. The chemical states and the atomic concentrations of solids which have formed on the surface of zero-valent iron as well as the type of the dep...
متن کاملHigh-level arsenite removal from groundwater by zero-valent iron.
The objectives of this study were to conduct batch and column studies to (i) assess the effectiveness of zero-valent iron for arsenic remediation in groundwater, (ii) determine removal mechanisms of arsenic, and (iii) evaluate implications of these processes with regard to the stability of arsenic and long-term remedial performance of the permeable reactive barrier (PRB) technology. A high conc...
متن کاملEnhanced chromium (VI) removal using activated carbon modified by zero valent iron and silver bimetallic nanoparticles
Recently, adsorption process has been introduced as a favorable and effective technique for the removal of metal ions from aqueous solutions. In the present study, bimetallic nanoparticles consisting of zero valent iron and silver were loaded on the activated carbon powder for the preparation of a new adsorbent (PAC-Fe(o)/Ag). The above adsorbent was characterized by using XRD, SEM and TEM tech...
متن کاملSonocatalytic degradation of p-chlorophenol by nanoscale zero-valent copper activated persulfate under US irradiation in aqueous solutions
In this study, nanoscale zero-valent copper (nZVC) as catalyst activated persulfate (PS) was used for the degradation of p-chlorophenol (p-CP) under ultrasonic (US) irradiation in aqueous solution. The effect of different operational parameters such as solution pH (3.5-10.5), PS concentration (1-7.5 mm/L), nZVC dosage (5-35 mg/L) and initial p-CP concentration (10-100 mg/L) were evaluated at di...
متن کاملDegradation of Low Concentrations of Formaldehyde in Sono Catalytic Ozonation Advanced Oxidation Processes using Zero-valent Iron
The purpose of the current study is to evaluate formaldehyde degradation ratio with various methods in a batch reactor. In this work, the ozonation, sonolysis (ultrasonic), and ozone sonolysis, sono catalytic ozonation (SCO), and nano zero-valent iron catalyst processes were investigated for removal of formaldehyde. In addition, the influence of important factors such as pH (5–9), ultrasonic po...
